The PMO MO/C personnel participated in the Work-Life Balance and Stress Management Talk conducted by a Registered Pyschometrician, working at the CDO City Social Welfare and Development Psychosocial Unit, Mental Helpline and Psychoeducation Section — Ms. Ella Marie F. Sumampong last April 15, 2024 at the GAD Hall of PPA PMO MO/C Building 2.

In a workplace where a significant amount of work is sedentary, the PPA PMO MO/C recognizes the need of maintaining an active lifestyle. Everyone understands the importance of exercise for overall health, and as the modern workplace evolves, workers’ mental health is becoming a bigger concern. Thus, Ms. Sumampong’s discussion has gained knowledge to the participants on how to find balance and promote well-being in the workplace.

This activity is one of PMO MO/C’s highlights as it celebrated its 49th year anniversary. Also, this in line with PMO MO/C’s Safety and Health Committee’s plans and programs for this year, and in accordance with the Commission’s Memorandum Circular No. 04, s. 2020, which deals with Mental Health Program in the Public Sector.

Further, as stated in Republic Act No. 11036, also known as the Mental Health Act (MHA) of 2018 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations signed on January 22, 2019, the Civil Service Commission is mandated agencies to develop guidelines and standards on appropriate and evidence-based mental health programs for the workplace as described in the said Act, as well as policies that promote mental health in the workplace and address stigma and discrimination suffered by people with mental health conditions.

With this, the PMO MO/C is strong with its commitment to provide a healthy, safe and happy work environment to achieve a productive and more efficient working place.
