On March 11, 2025, the TMO Camiguin held a sectoral coordination meeting with representatives from the BASPSI, various shipping lines, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and the Philippine Coast Guard. The primary agenda of the meeting focused on the vessels’ Safety Management System (SMS) flow chart for rolling cargoes and passengers, as well as the preparation for the upcoming PANAAD 2025.
The meeting commenced with a detailed discussion on the SMS flow chart, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety and efficiency of rolling cargoes and passenger transport. Representatives from the shipping lines shared their current practices and challenges, while MARINA and the Philippine Coast Guard provided insights on regulatory compliance and safety protocols.
In preparation for PANAAD 2025, the participants discussed strategies to manage the expected increase in passenger and cargo traffic. The coordination between the different sectors was highlighted as crucial to ensure smooth operations during the festival. The meeting concluded with an agreement to conduct regular follow-up meetings to monitor progress and address any emerging issues.
The TMO Camiguin expressed its gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and commitment to enhancing maritime safety and efficiency.
