The Port Construction and Maintenance Department of the Head Office conducted a Pre-Construction Coordination Meeting together with the personnel from the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro and Rudhil Construction & Enterprises, Inc., on 04 March 2024 for the project, Construction and Installation of Sewage Treatment Plant for Various PPA-PMO/TMO.

The Sewage Treatment Plant to be constructed and installed is a 4-meter by 8-meter structure with a capacity of 50 Cubic Meters of wastewater per Day (CMD). It consists of an Equalization Tank, 3 Reaction Tanks, Settling Tank, Coagulation Tank, Sludge Holding Tank, Chlorine Contact Tank, and a Clarifier.

This project is in compliance with Republic Act No. 9275 or otherwise known as the “Philippine Clean Water Act.” The Sewage Treatment Plant plays a vital role in safeguarding public health, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable water management practices. The said STP will collect wastewater from the septic tanks of the Passenger Terminal Complex Area, remove contaminants and pollutants, and discharge treated water to the drainage system of the Port of Cagayan de Oro.

The said project, amounting to Php 243,700,215.08 for the 12 units of STPs to be installed at various PPA-PMO/TMO including the Port of Cagayan de Oro, will have a total contract duration of 180 calendar days.
