The PPA Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro took part in the Regional Conference with the theme, “Seizing Opportunities for Green Shipping in Asia and the Pacific”, on 16 May 2023 via Zoom application. The event was co-organized by the Marine Industry Authority (MARINA), the Danish Maritime Authority of Denmark, and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

PMO MO/C, as a GPAS Awardee for two periods, was invited to be the Philippine Delegate for discussing the Role of Green Ports in Energy Efficiency and Technological Development. Representing the Philippine Ports Authority, the Port Services Division Manager of PMO MO/C, Ms. Ruby Maria O. Gumapon presented the best practices and initiatives being implemented by the PMO as means to eliminate the hazardous emissions brought about by port operations. Additionally, she was able to present the other green activities that made the PMO a two-time GPAS Awardee such as mangrove/tree planting, coastal clean-up drives, and coral planting/staking, among others.
