The Port Management of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) has issued PORT ADVISORY/BULLETIN/ANNOUNCEMENT (PABA) No. PPD 016–2023, in conjunction with PAGASA-DOST Flood Advisory No. 1 regarding the Tropical Depression ‘’Kabayan’’.
In response to the adverse effects of Tropical Depression “Kabayan”, PPA PMO-MOC has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of stranded passengers staying at its Amenity Building in the Passenger Terminal Complex.
Currently, 61 passengers find shelter at the Amenity Building due to the cancellation of vessel trips in the Baseport (CDO Port). The PPA Port Police, in collaboration with the PNP-Maritime and PCG, are diligently executing OPLAN BIYAHENG AYOS – PASKO 2023, maintaining heightened security alerts to guarantee the safety and security of those affected passengers.
At approximately 1730H of the same date, PPA extended support to the stranded passengers by providing “free-lugaw” (porridge) and drinking water at the amenity building. This initiative aims to alleviate the inconveniences caused by unavoidable circumstances and underscores PPA’s commitment to prioritize the welfare of the community during challenging times.
