A CHO-hired worker was caught in possession of 1 sachet of a suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu) on February 21, 2024. Subject item was intercepted by BSSMOs assigned at BXM Area in Access Control Center – Gate 4, Baseport, PMO-MOC during security screening thereat.

During routine checks, the screener detected a Pay-by-Result worker carrying a suspicious blue hard hat. Upon closer inspection, she found a pack of cigarettes with a crumpled twenty (20) peso bill concealed inside. Further investigation revealed two (2) sticks of cigarettes and a small sachet containing a substance suspected to be Shabu.

Upon discovery of the contraband, the Port Police Department, through the IIS, initiated the necessary protocols to prepare the required documents for filing appropriate charges against the suspect. Collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has been initiated to ensure proper handling of the case and adherence to legal procedures.

Additionally, coordination with Barangay officials of Brgy. Puntod and other concerned units has been established to assist in the investigation and subsequent proceedings.

The MOC PPD, in collaboration with relevant authorities, will continue to pursue the investigation into this incident.
