In celebration for PPA’s 50th Anniversary and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Port Management Office (PMO) of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro recently conducted a heartwarming donation drive with the theme “Thrifty at Fifty” on June 21, 2024, at the Passenger Terminal Building PPAsyal Area. This initiative aimed to support the education of 50 elementary school children of port workers by providing them with essential school supplies.
The donation drive focused on providing essential school supplies to children, ensuring they are equipped and ready for their upcoming academic endeavors. Each child received a set of supplies, including notebooks, pens, pencils, lunch boxes, tumblers, and loot bags. These items are not just tools for learning but symbols of encouragement and support from their parents’ workplace and the community at large. The children were also served with delicious PPA Lugaw and snacks during the event.
“Serbisyo at Malasakit,” the guiding principle of PMO’s operations, was clearly demonstrated through this initiative. The donation drive, which was led by Port Manager Isidro Butaslac Jr together with all the Division Managers was a success. This act of kindness and generosity reflects the agency’s deep-rooted values of compassion and empathy towards those it serves.
Through initiatives like this, the PMO continues to build bridges, foster relationships, and uplift lives, embodying the true spirit of corporate social responsibility in every sense of the word.
