The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Terminal Management Office of Balingoan held the 1st Quarter Port Management Advisory Council (PMMAC) and Port Security Advisory Committee (PSAC) meeting on March 20, 2025. Key stakeholders, including officials from the Philippine Coast Guard, MARINA, the Maritime Police, shipping companies, and other government agencies, gathered to discuss critical updates on port operations and security. The meeting emphasized the enforcement of PPA Administrative Order No. 01-2025, which outlines regulations for pilotage services and compliance. Another major topic was the implementation of the revised submission process for notices of arrival and berth applications, which took effect on March 12, 2025, to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the port’s commitment to environmental sustainability was underscored through participation in Earth Hour and the organization of a clean-up drive.

A strong call for cooperation and participation was made to all agencies, particularly shipping lines, to ensure transparency in fare and freight rates and to maintain commitment to vessel schedules for efficient port operations. Discussions on OPLAN Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2025 highlighted the need for proper traffic management, security enhancements, and organized passenger flow from April 15-17, 2025. Stakeholders were urged to provide essential facilities such as shaded waiting areas and structured queueing systems. Compliance with port security protocols, the implementation of access control measures, and adherence to the Annual Port Users Pass (APUP) system were also reinforced. The meeting reaffirmed the collective commitment to enhancing port services, strengthening security measures, and ensuring a smooth experience for port users and the maritime industry.
