Pasay City — In a prestigious ceremony held on the evening of September 5, 2024, at the Manila Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel, Newport, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) was honored with the “Environmental Stewardship Award” as part of the OFW Party List’s 3rd Impact Awards. The accolade was presented to Port Manager Isidro Butaslac Jr., recognizing the organization’s exceptional commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible port management.

The Impact Awards, organized by the OFW Party List in partnership with the Buhay-OFW Foundation, Inc., celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of individuals, corporations, and government agencies that have significantly advanced the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families. The awards aim to highlight the exemplary achievements in promoting rights, safeguarding the environment, and supporting the development of the OFW sector.

The PMO MOC’s dedication to environmental stewardship has been evident through its implementation of various sustainable practices. These include the adoption of green technologies, waste management programs, and initiatives aimed at minimizing the ecological footprint of port activities. The office has been instrumental in driving resilient port development projects that balance operational efficiency with environmental protection.

The Impact Awards serve as a crucial platform for recognizing outstanding efforts and inspiring others to follow suit. By celebrating organizations and individuals who exemplify commendable work ethics, professionalism, integrity, and dedication, the awards foster a culture of excellence and responsibility.
