Cagayan de Oro, July 11, 2024 — The Port Management Office (PMO) of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro launched its anniversary celebrations on July 11, 2024, with a blend of environmental and community-focused events. The day’s activities highlighted the port’s commitment to sustainability and fostered a spirited sense of camaraderie among staff and stakeholders.

The day’s festivities began with the launch of the “Adopt a Garden Program,” a green initiative designed to beautify the port area while reducing its carbon footprint. This program underscores PMO’s commitment to environmental stewardship and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the port.

Following the morning’s environmental efforts, attendees gathered for a Thanksgiving Mass, reflecting on the port’s achievements and expressing gratitude. The mass was followed by a short program that included a series of Audio-Visual Presentations (AVPs). These presentations highlighted the “50 Faces of PPA” and showcased recent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, illustrating the port’s ongoing efforts to support and uplift the community. The same day edit (SDE) video of the “Adopt a Garden Program” was also shared, capturing the morning’s activities and celebrating the collective effort in beautifying the port.

Lunch was a lively affair with a joyful salo-salo session, offering a chance for staff and guests to bond over a delicious meal and share in the day’s celebrations. The afternoon brought even more excitement with the highly anticipated Cheer Chant Showdown. Five groups took to the stage, performing cheer routines that aligned with the theme, “50 Years of Linking our Islands to the World.” The Port Services Division impressed the four esteemed judges with their energetic and creative performance, earning them the title of champions in the competition. PMO MOC also provided a Juice Bar for passengers at the Passenger Terminal Building and snacks that made the passengers smile.

These activities were a hit among participants, offering a perfect way to unwind and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
