The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro, through its designated Task Force, gathered all the Private Port Operators for a Kapehan Session on Friday, 09 August 2024 at the Passenger Terminal Building, Port of Cagayan de Oro. This activity aims to re-orient the participants on the policies and standards for safety, security, and environment, as well as discuss matters regarding their compliance to PPA Administrative Order No. 05-2022, also known as the “2022 Revised Policy on Private Ports”.
The MOC Private Ports Task Force, spearheaded by Terminal Manager Roel Madera, presented an overview of the said PPA Administrative Order and its stipulations, including safety and security standards, environmental policies, and the required documents/permits. After the presentations of the speakers, the attendees were able to raise their queries and concerns related to their requirements during the open forum, to which the Task Force was able to address and clarify immediately.
Towards the end of the session, the members Task Force expressed their sincere gratitude to the representatives of the Private Ports for giving their time and exerting effort to attend the Kapehan Session, especially those who travelled from other cities in Misamis Oriental.
The Kapehan Session will be conducted after every semester of the year and will be part of the Task Force initiatives in monitoring the Private Ports under the jurisdiction of the PMO.
