Cagayan de Oro City—Today, 25 October 2024, the PMO MO/C personnel actively participated in the LGU’s City Wide Clean-up Drive, “Klarex nga Kalimpyo sa Kadalanan ug Tugkaran,” for the month of October. This initiative underscores the commitment to maintaining cleanliness and promoting environmental awareness throughout the community.
The monthly clean-up drive was actively participated by 23 dedicated individuals from the Admin Division, Passenger Terminal Complex, and Oroport Cargo Handling Service Incorporated. The activity took place at the Port Area of Cagayan de Oro, specifically along Gate 3 and Gate 4. Participants successfully collected a total of 90 kilograms of waste, highlighting their commitment to an effective and thorough cleaning effort.
The City-Wide Clean-up Drive, occurring on the last Friday of each month, is a vital part of the LGU’s systematic and eco-friendly Solid Waste Management initiatives. This effort aligns with Republic Act 9003, the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000,” which focuses on protecting both the environment and public health. Thus, the PMO MO/C is dedicated to fostering a cleaner, greener community through these ongoing initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collective action in waste management and environmental sustainability.
