In line with the Nationwide Celebration of Women’s Month 2025 and its continued commitment to gender equality and inclusivity, the Philippine Ports Authority – PMO Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro, successfully conducted a Gender-Fair Language and Gender Sensitivity Training last March 21, 2025.

The activity aimed to deepen the understanding of gender issues in the workplace, promote respectful and inclusive communication, and strengthen gender-responsive practices within the organization.

Serving as the resource person for the training was Mr. John Mari Migallon, the GAD Focal Person of the City Education and Development Department of the Local Government of Cagayan de Oro City. Mr. Migallon shared valuable insights on the importance of using gender-fair language in both written and spoken communication. He also guided participants in recognizing gender biases and stereotypes that may unconsciously persist in day-to-day interactions.

Through engaging discussions and real-life scenarios the participants gained a deeper appreciation of gender sensitivity and its significant role in fostering a more inclusive, respectful, and empowered workplace environment.
