The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) celebrated the 36th Anniversary of Pantalan at the Gender and Development (GAD) Hall, PPA MOC Building 2 on September 26, 2023. The theme of the event was ‘’Kumilos at Makilahok sa Progresibong Pantalan’’, a call to action for everyone to participate in the progress of Pantalan.
The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Vice President Ma’am Core Suan. Following her speech, Port Manager Bong Butaslac took the stage to deliver an inspiring message. He highlighted how important collaboration is in ensuring the efficient operation of Pantalan and fostering economic growth in the region.
The event also provided an opportunity for transparency in financial matters, as Treasurer Cristina Taqueban presented the treasurer’s report. This report detailed the financial status of PMO MOC, showcasing their commitment to accountability and responsible stewardship of resources.
As the program neared its conclusion, President Roel Madera delivered the closing remarks. Madera expressed his gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the success of the Port Management Office over the years. He also reiterated the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving Pantalan’s continuous progress.
To add a fun and engaging element to the celebration, a lively Zumba session was organized. It allowed the participants to unwind and enjoy a healthy dose of physical activity. Following the Zumba session, a ‘salo-salo’ was held. This allowed attendees to bond over delicious food and strengthen their connections within the PMO MOC family.
As a token of appreciation and to prepare everyone for the rainy season ahead, the PMO MOC distributed umbrellas to all participants. This practical gift symbolized the unity and support that keeps PMO MOC resilient, just like an umbrella that shields us from rain.
