The Port Management Office-Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MO/C), together with the Terminal Management and shipping lines offices took part in this year’s Earth Hour 2025, embracing the theme “Switch Off and Secure Water for All” on March 22, 2025. The initiative aimed to highlight the vital connection between energy conservation and water security.

For an hour, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, the port community switched off non-essential lights at terminals, offices, and shipping facilities to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, promote energy conservation, and environmental awareness. Beyond Earth Hour, PMO MO/C continues to implement green initiatives, such as waste reduction programs, energy-efficient lighting in port facilities, and advocacy campaigns for environmental awareness among port users.

As a vital hub for trade and commerce, PMO MO/C underscores its dedication to promoting eco-friendly practices in the maritime sector, inspiring others in the region to take meaningful action toward creating a greener and more sustainable future.
