As the Philippine Ports Authority commemorates its 48th founding anniversary, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro, together with all the PMOs and Terminal Management Offices (TMOs) nationwide, took part in the celebration on 11 July 2022.
All personnel of PMO MO/C including those in TMO Opol, Balingoan, and Camiguin participated in various activities that were organized for the said celebration. The day started with a Eucharistic Mass, presided by the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Chaplain Msgr. Tex Legitimas, to give thanks to the Almighty Father for His constant guidance and provision. Outdoor activities were also conducted such as Zumba, traditional Filipino games, and a mini sports fest.
In the afternoon, PMO MO/C joined the rest of the PMOs and TMOs nationwide for a virtual program hosted by the Philippine Ports Authority Head Office. With its theme, “Kaagapay sa pag-ahon sa hamon ng panahon”, the Authority commemorated all its achievements and milestones amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic – from aiding stranded individuals and workers, expanding its environmental programs and initiatives, completing several port projects nationwide, and delivering quality service to the public. In his anniversary message, OIC-GM Manuel A. Boholano expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the PPA personnel for their service and dedication that has brought the agency to where it is now – “Hindi magiging ganito ang estado ng ahensya kung hindi tayo nagbibigay ng maayos na serbisyo sa sambayanan”. Additionally, as reported in PPA’s official website, one of this year’s major achievements is the P4.08 billion in cash dividends remitted from its net earnings in 2021 which represents 60% of its net income for the year, bringing its total dividend contributions under the Duterte administration to P21.48 billion, exceeding its highest remittance under previous administrations since 1994.
