Philippine Ports Authority Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro’s personnel: Ms. Iris Maika Lam and Ms. Janissa Ibrahim, together with representatives from other Government Agencies and Private Institutions attends Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region X’s News Conderence on the 2023 Economic Performance of Northern Mindanao on April 25, 2024 at Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center, Limketkai, Cagayan de Oro. The news conference is an annual activity conducted every last Thursday of the month of April. This is held concurrently in each of the 17 areas to address the region’s economic performance as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure (GRDE).

Ms. Sarah B. Balagbis, PSA X’s Chief Statistical Specialist welcome the participants and followed by a video message by PSA’s Undersecretary, Mr. Claire Dennis S. Mapa, Phd. PSA X’s Officer-in-Charge Dr. Janith C. Aves, CE presented the Report on the 2023 Economic Performance of Northern Mindanao, wherein she noted that in 2023, the Gross Capital Formation of Northern Mindanao registered the highest growth in the region, and that in 2023, the economy of Region X increased by 5.3%, a decrease from the 7.2% growth observed in 2022.

The said activity was also attended by National Economic and Development Authority’s (NEDA) Regional Director, Ms. Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño, CESO III, where she ended her speech with, “AmBisyon 2040: Usa ka malig-on, hamugway, ug kinabuhing naay kasiguraduhan para sa tanang taga Northern Mindanao.”

The PMO MO/C is one with the other agencies and/or institutions in its commitment to continuously serve and support the economic progress, not just in Northern Mindanao, but for the entire nation.
