The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) gathered together on October 31 to celebrate the retirement of their beloved Port Manager, Isidro “Bong” Butaslac Jr. Known for his exceptional leadership and dedication, PM Bong’s farewell was an emotional and memorable event, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

The day began with a solemn Holy Mass, setting the tone for a heartfelt day of reflection and gratitude. Following the Mass, employees gathered for a small program at GAD HALL bldg 2. that featured the giving of tokens, honoring PM Bong’s years of service and the positive impact he had on the PMO MOC. The event was filled with moments of laughter, tears, and sincere appreciation for the guidance and mentorship that PM Bong provided throughout his tenure.

During the program, employees took the opportunity to showcase their talents and express their heartfelt tributes through special presentations. The performances underscored the camaraderie and sense of community PM Bong fostered within the organization. Following the program, the team shared a small gathering, or salo-salo creating a warm and personal atmosphere where memories were exchanged, and PM Bong’s legacy was celebrated.

In the evening, PM Bong hosted a Testimonial Dinner, bringing together his immediate family,close family friends, Division/Division Managers, retired PDO and PMO Employees and friends in the nomin cluster for an intimate gathering at Malberry Suites. The dinner offered a time for personal reflections and shared stories as well as giving Tokens of appreciation as those closest to him honored the man who not only led with skill but also cared deeply for those around him. PM Bong’s retirement marks the end of an era for the PMO MOC, but his leadership and legacy will remain in the hearts of those he inspired. His impact as a dedicated leader, mentor, and friend has left a lasting impression, one that will continue to resonate within the organization for years to come.
