Cagayan de Oro City (Baseport) – The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) initiates the conduct of WATER POTABILITY TESTS for 5 WATER HYDRANTS Supplying Water to Vessel on 4 Parameters today, 20 December 2024, as relative to the Integrated Management System – Occupational Safety and Health (IMS OSH) requirements. The Water Quality Test was facilitated by the PMO MOC Port Services Division (PSD) and Engineering Services Division (ESD) carried out by accredited personnel from a Department of Health (DOH) – accredited Laboratory.

Parameters for testing includes the Heterotrophic Plate, Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform, and E-Coli Count. Such testing shall be conducted annually to maintain and ensure the quality, potability, and cleanliness of the water supply within the PMO MOC. Moreover, the primary goal of the water potability test is to ensure that the water distributed from the hydrants to the vessels meets the standards for safe consumption, in accordance with national health and safety regulations.

Present during the testing are various personnel in the PMO for purposes of the conduct of testing, documentation, and logistics. This essential annual activity underscores the commitment to safeguarding public health.
