The Regional Development Council-X (Northern Mindanao) conferred Excellence Lodestar Award to Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac, Jr. and lauded the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro as one of the Outstanding RDC-X Agency Members under the RDC “Xcellence or Amihanan Awards” in celebration of the RDC-X Week 2021.
These awards are given by the Council to give honor to individuals and institutions who have demonstrated unwavering commitment and excellence in carrying out the Council’s mandated functions despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outstanding RDC-X Agency Member
The PPA PMO MO/C remains ardent to its commitment for environmental protection and sustainability, ensuring that port operations have minimal impact to the ports’ milieu and environmental awareness is also inculcated among port stakeholders through green trainings and involvement in environmental activities and programs.
CDO Port is recognized as a Green Port by the APEC Port Services Network and its best practices for environmental protection was also awarded by the Development Academy of the Philippines.
The PMO MO/C, along with the Department of Agriculture, DENR, DepEd, DTI, and DOST were awarded as Outstanding RDC-X Members.
Excellence Lodestar Award
Since the onset of his term in PMO MO/C, PM Butaslac, Jr. has been a trailblazer who assertively drives for transformation and re-engineering of MO/C ports in areas of infrastructure, environment, technological innovation, management system, and peace and security. These gradual transformations are aimed towards a new paradigm in service delivery—an important factor to increase the competitiveness of the ports and serve the public better.
During his term, the PMO was certified for the implementation of Integrated Management System with zero (0) non-conformity since 2018 with several positive findings in terms of environment, health, security, and quality.
In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, his effective management have also made MO/C ports to be amply responsive and resilient to these precarious times with the implementation of measures under the Prevention—Detection—Isolation—Treatment—Reintegration (PDITR) and Vaccination strategy.
The Regional Development Council (RDC) is the highest planning and policy-making body in the region. It discusses and integrates local programs from different agencies and organization members to the regional and national socio-economic development activities. The PMO MO/C is one of the active members of the RDC and has presented and proposed development programs and projects particularly major port infrastructures that help address perennial concerns such as road traffic congestion along the approaches towards the port and urban flooding.
