The Philippine Coast Guard has long been a partner agency of the Philippine Ports Authority in terms of implementing port and maritime security regulations. This partnership has evolved over the years in ensuring and promoting safe and secured port operations during ship to port interface.

Another setting to strengthen the partnership between both agencies is to conjointly honour the country’s most cherished symbol, the Philippine Flag. Spearheaded by the Station Commander of the Port Police Division of PMO MO/C, the raising of the nation’s emblem for freedom is now being celebrated with participation of personnel from the Coast Guard Station Western Misamis Oriental every Monday morning at exactly 0800H. The ceremony commences with the singing of the National Anthem and followed by recital of Panunumpa sa Watawat Ng Pilipinas and Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan, respectively.

Indeed, this solemn ceremony does not just symbolize patriotism, but exemplifies sustained strengthening of solidarity among port and maritime law enforcement agencies.
