22 August 2022, Misamis Oriental – All ports and terminal management offices under the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro have implemented Operation Plan Biyaheng Ayos for Balik Eskwela 2022 starting 22 August 2022 until 26 August 2022.
The ports of Cagayan de Oro, Benoni, and Balingoan have prepared for the expected increase in passenger traffic as face-to-face classes have resumed. In the Memorandum signed by the Department of Transportation Secretary, Hon. Jaime J. Bautista, all transport-related agencies were directed to be on heightened alert status to ensure the safety, security, and convenience of all passengers travelling during this period. The Philippine Ports Authority has prepared an Operational Plan for efficient and effective response in view of traffic demands and incidents that may occur.
In compliance of the said directive, volunteers from both outsourced and regular personnel of PMO MO/C were deployed at the Amenity Building to assist the sea-going public. Representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard, Marine Industry Authority, and the 1001st Auxiliary Squadron also volunteered to man the Public Assistance and Malasakit Help Desks for the whole duration of the OPLAN.-BCAcedera
