The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) continues its collaboration with the World wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF) and Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies, Inc. (BEST), a company that implements sustainable development through proper solid waste disposal and resource conservation through their launched program named Trash to Cashback.
To recall, the said program was launched at the Port of Cagayan de Oro last October 17, 2022, where its goal is to collect recyclable wastes in exchange for a cashback or environmental points and will also turn wastes into new products. On February 16, 2024, at 9:00 AM, all PMO MOC personnel and port users cooperated with the said program through handing over their collected recyclable waste. Moreover, a total of 169kg of recyclable waste were collected and earned 289.50 of environmental points.
By improving our recycling habits, we can help keep the environment clean and preserve our natural resources. Thus, the PMO MOC will continually participate and cooperate in environmental programs just like the Trash to Cashback Program.
