In order to maintain the inter-agency coordination and to be kept updated on actions taken to address the spread of Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) albeit confronted with several constraints brought by the said health crisis, members of the Northern Mindanao Regional Task Force for COVID-19 (NorMin RTF), Regional Development Council (RDC), Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC), Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) jointly convened via video conferencing on 06 April 2020 organized by the National Economic and Development Authority-Region 10.
COVID-19 Situational Report as of 05 April 2020 and Persons Under Investigation (PUI) cases in Northern Mindanao together with case mapping were presented to the online participants.
Clusters also reported updates and actions taken. Relatedly, the Logistics Cluster informed the body that fresh fruits and vegetables coming from Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental will continue to flow unhampered towards the Visayas and Luzon islands.
The Philippine Ports Authority- PMO MO/C as one of the members of the Logistics Cluster assured the public that the flow of goods through the ports shall remain unimpeded as directed PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago. Since January 01, 2020, the CDO Port has received 16 foreign vessels that are unloading imported rice from Vietnam. A total volume of 60, 435 metric tons of imported rice were discharged in the Port.
The Port of Cagayan de Oro, dubbed as the “Global Gateway to Mindanao,” will be operating 24/7 to meet with the logistical requirement in service of Mindanao and neighboring regions and islands.-IMR Lam
