As the new year begins, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro prepares for the new challenges and goals that await with a New Year’s Toast on Monday morning, 09 January 2023.

After more than two years of virtual gatherings, the activity was conducted face-to-face following minimum public health protocols. The Senior Staff of the PMO lead by Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac, Jr. started by sharing their toasts that encapsulate their motivation and commitments for the year 2023 through creative phrases such as “Anticipate to Participate”, “Serve to Conserve”, “The Best is the Least We Can Do”, and “Ride the Tide”. Afterwards, PM Butaslac delivered his New Year’s Message. He expressed his sincere gratitude to all the Division offices and units for their unceasing commitment and dedication and their outstanding contribution in the accomplishments for the year just ended.

Additionally, the Senior Staff also discussed important matters related to the Integrated Management System, especially in the compliance with its policies and objectives. The IMS Management Review Report for CY 2022 contains the changes in the external and internal issues; needs and expectations of interested parties; the results of the Customer Satisfaction Survey; and the results of the consultation and participation of port stakeholders and outsourced personnel during the conduct of aspect/impact analysis, hazard identification, and determination of controls. As such, inputs from each Division were consolidated and reviewed prior to its submission.

The Division Level Conference for CY 2022 was scheduled every Monday and Friday of January until the first week of February. It will tackle the plans and programs of each Division for CY 2023 as well as their issues and concerns. The Port Police Division will be the first to hold the said conference on 16 January 2023.-BCAcedera
