The Terminal Management Office of Camiguin has received the thermal scanners as committed by the Provincial Local Government Unit of Camiguin to be provided to the Ports of Benoni, Balbagon, and Guinsiliban to help boost the seaports’ preventive measures against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
With the assistance of the LGU, the thermal scanner in the Port of Benoni was already operational while the thermal scanners in the Port of Guinsiliban and Balbagon are yet to be installed.
The installation of these thermal scanners is in preparation for the expected influx of passengers under the “new normal.” With the no-contact thermal scanner, port personnel or health personnel deployed in the Ports will no longer screen the passengers individually using a thermo gun, which would thereby minimize their exposure to possible virus carriers.
The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro is grateful for the commitment and solidarity of LGU Camiguin towards improved measures for the safety and security of the sea-going public during this prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
