The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) personnel: Ms. Ruby Maria O. Gumapon (Port Services Division Manager), Ms. Core D. Suan (Environmental Specialist) and Ms. Clarissa C. Rosales (Passenger Terminal Complex Manager) joins the culmination event of World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature’s three-year project, “Clean Ports, Clean Oceans: Improving Port Waste Management in the Philippines” yesterday, September 20, 2023 at Marriot Hotel, Manila.
Port of Cagayan de Oro as one of the three ports in the Philippines partnered by the WWF for Nature in their above-mentioned project held its Culmination for the Eco-Success last August 17, 2023 at the Port of Cagayan de Oro’s Passenger Terminal Complex, where the Port of Cagayan de Oro was recognized as the “Best Performing Port” for hitting the target of waste reduction and for the active commitment, participation and cooperation to implement sustainable solutions to address plastic pollution.
As the project ends, the WWF is sincerely grateful and celebrates with the partners in the succesful turn out of the project in advancing circular solutions to reduce plastic pollution and achieve the goal of no plastic in nature. Additionally, the WWF released its communication tools and documentation that were created throughout the project and can be utilized by the PMOs and organizations.
The PMO MO/C is truly honored to be part of this milestone and will remain committed to work together in maintaining a Clean Port, Clean Ocean for the future generations.
