Cagayan de Oro City | The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) personnel and members of Pambansang Tinig at Lakas sa Pantalan (PANTALAN) celebrates its 36th Anniversary and joins the annual International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) on September 16, 2023 at Punta, Barangay Macabalan coastal area.

This year’s ICC theme, “Clean Seas with Healthy Fisheries” is aligned to the United Nations Ocean Decade Challenge No. 3 which is to “Sustainably feed the global population.” With this, a total of 20 PMO MOC personnel and PANTALAN members with Port Manager, Isidro V. Butaslac and other agencies worked together and collected a total of 10 sacks at 10 kilos of garbages.

The ICC Day is an annual activity conducted every 3rd Saturday of September in accordance to the Presidential Proclamation No. 470, series of 2003, wherein all Local Government Units (LGUs), National Government Agencies, Private and Religious Sectors, Academic, Media, and Civic Organizations are enjoined to gather for a simultaneous coastal clean-up.

As the PANTALAN members celebrates its 36th Anniversary with its theme: “Kumilos at Makilahok sa Progresibong Pantalan,” the members continues its commitment and dedication to actively support and make a difference not just within the organization, but also to the community in attaining a clean and progressive port and its coasts.
