Cagayan de Oro City | A total of 76 participants from PMO MOC Personnel and other agencies participated in the LAB for ALL – Lingap at Alagang Bayanihan and simultaneous Bamboo Planting/Growing activity in coordination with Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) this morning, September 13, 2023 at Sitio Baluarte, Barangay Lumbia, with a total of 152 Bamboo seedlings planted.

This said activity is in relative to the upcoming celebration of the World Bamboo Day. Every year on September 18, people worldwide celebrate World Bamboo Day, which was created by the World Bamboo Organization (WBO). The purpose of the celebration is to promote awareness of bamboo conservation and the global bamboo industry while bringing attention to the enormous potential of bamboo as an alternative resource.

The Bamboo plant is known for being one of the fastest-growing plants in the world. Southeast Asian, East Asian, and South Asian regions of the world value its versatility, cultural significance, and economic importance.

Meanwhile, the Terminal Management Office of Camiguin also did their share for LAB for ALL with a total of 400 various tree seedlings planted and the PCBSI planted 77 mix of Mahogany and Tugas (Molave) seedlings.

As an environmental, and economic and sustainable development advocate, the PMO MOC assures to continue to work together as one with the nation in conserving Bamboo plants and other trees and contribute in achieving the Global goals or the Sustainable Development Goals for the safety and security of the future generations.
