In a closing meeting held on July 20, 2023, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) celebrated its continued certification to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2015 by SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the PMO MOC, underscoring its unwavering commitment to excellence and environmental and occupational health and safety management.

The first surveillance audit took place from July 18 to July 20, 2023. During the audit, SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. thoroughly examined the PMO MOC’s processes, policies, and overall organizational performance.

The results of the audit were nothing short of exceptional, as the PMO MOC exhibited an outstanding commitment to maintaining the highest standards in all areas. The PMO MOC received an impressive outcome with 0 nonconformity, a testament to the organization’s robust management systems and diligent adherence to the ISO standards.

In addition to the absence of nonconformities, the PMO MOC received two opportunities for improvement and revealed four observations, which serve as constructive feedback for the PMO MOC to further refine its processes and improve overall efficiency. These observations will undoubtedly support the organization’s ongoing commitment to improvement and growth.

The auditors were particularly impressed with five positive findings, which exemplify the PMO MOC’s remarkable performance and commendable practices. These positive findings include the commitment of the Top Management to the continual improvement and QMS implementation, the awareness and knowledge of the personnel to its process and corresponding area of responsibility, strong implementation and monitoring of incoming and outgoing vessels and the Trash to Cashback program in partnership with WWF to promote recycling and EMS programs.

Overall, SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. expressed its recognition of the PMO MOC’s exceptional implementation of the certification requirements as outlined within the framework of the International Standards. The organization’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety was evident throughout the external audit.
