The PMO MOC together with all Port Management Offices in the Philippines marked its 49th anniversary with a grand celebration centered around the theme “Sa Progresibong Pantalan, Aasenso ang Bayan.” With a series of engaging activities and events, PPA once again affirmed its commitment to the growth and advancement of the maritime industry in a week-long event that started on July 10 to July 14, 2023.
The celebration kicked off on 11 July 2023 with a Zumba session that started at 7 AM and was followed by a short program, highlighting the rich history and achievements of PPA over the past 49 years. The program served as a reminder of PPA’s instrumental role in promoting trade, facilitating commerce, and creating opportunities for growth.
To honor the spiritual aspect of the anniversary celebration, a Eucharistic mass was held. It provided a moment of reflection and gratitude for the blessings and successes that PPA has experienced throughout its existence.
In the afternoon, the celebration continued with the participation of the PMO MOC through an online platform. This innovative approach allowed for broader engagement and ensured the safety and convenience of participants from various locations. The virtual gathering enabled PMO representatives to connect, share insights, and discuss future plans for enhancing port services and operations. During the online session, the winners of the highly anticipated “Tugsayawit” were announced and the Northern Mindanao Cluster PMO Surigao emerged as the champion of this year. Their flawless execution, powerful vocals, and stunning choreography left the audience in awe.
