The OSS Crew Change Hub of Cagayan de Oro facilitated crew change operations for MT PENINSULA IX on 07 October 2022, its third event since the activation on 31 May 2022.
Although the crew change consisted of only one (1) onsigner (embarking crew) and one (1) offsigner (disembarking crew), member agencies of the OSS Cagayan de Oro actively executed their functions as stipulated in the OSS Crew Change protocols. Representatives from the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de oro (PMO MO/C), Marine Industry Authority (MARINA), Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Bureau of Immigration (BI), Bureau of Customs (BOC), Department of Health (DOH), PNP Maritime Group (RMU 10), Coast Guard District of Northern Mindanao (CGDNM), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) were all in attendance to facilitate the crew change operations.
Since the activation of OSS Crew Change Hubs, protocols have been regularly updated in compliance with IATF Issuances and public health standards. PMO MO/C, as the lead agency for OSS CDO, issued an advisory to all member agencies dated 04 October 2022 regarding the Updated Entry, Quarantine, and Testing Requirements for Arriving Filipino Passengers as stipulated in the Bureau of Quarantine Advisory dated 12 September 2022. The said advisory states that disembarking crew (offsigners) will no longer be required to undergo quarantine and testing if they are fully vaccinated (with or without booster) and have valid proof thereof. Unvaccinated individuals will still be subject to quarantine and testing. (See: OSS Cagayan de Oro Advisory/Bulletin/Announcement)
Both the onsigner and offsigner for MT PENINSULA IX have completed their vaccine doses and received the first dose for their booster shots. As such, the updated crew change protocols were implemented and the offsigning crew was immediately assisted by his agent from JFI Subic Inc. on his way home.
