The Philippine Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao invited the employees of the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro to an open house event for their vessel MRRV 4411 also known as “BRP Cape Engaño” at the CDO Port on Monday, 05 September 2022.
MRRV 4411 is named after one of the primary lighthouses in the Philippines— Lighthouse Cape Engaño in Palaui Island, Santa Ana, Cagayan and is the tenth Parola-class patrol vessel commissioned by the Philippine Coast Guard. Designed for law enforcement duties, the ship weighs 321 GT and can hold 25 pax on board. It is equipped with the necessary equipment for security, navigation, communication, and radio monitoring.
During the open house event, CG CAPT GERONIMO B TUVILLA welcomed the guests, including Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac, Jr. and Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia. They were taken on a full tour of the vessel wherein video presentations of its achievements and voyage history were shown. The vessel crew were also able to introduce the guests to its facilities and equipment and give brief descriptions on its functions.
PCG MRRV 4411 is set to participate in the Simultaneous Exercise for this year’s National Maritime Week, spearheaded by the Philippine Ports Authority – PMO Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro.
