August 18, 2022, Cagayan de Oro City— The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Mary Jean T. Pacheco visited the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro on Thursday, 18 August 2022.

The DTI recently conducted their two-day Supra Regional Consultations for the Western Mindanao Logistics Cluster in Cagayan de Oro City, wherein the Port Services Division Manager of PMO MO/C was a participant thereof. After wrapping up their event, the DTI E-Commerce Office and Supply Chain and Logistics Management Division (SCLMD) led by DTI Asec. Mary Jean Pacheco together with the USAID consultants visited PMO MO/C and were welcomed by Port Manager Isidro V. Butaslac, Jr. During their meeting, Asec. Pacheco discussed with PM Butaslac the possible strategies to increase efficiency and reduce costs in terms of logistics.

Port Services Division Manager, Ruby Gumapon, took them on a tour of the Port of Cagayan de Oro, one of the largest key players in the region’s logistics. During the port tour, Asec. Pacheco and her team commended the PMO for their efficient and attractive facilities, including the new Passenger Terminal Building and the Amenity Building.

The PMO of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro is looking forward to working with the Department of Trade and Industry towards sustainable and efficient logistics operations.–BCAcedera
