To ensure the safety, security, and comfort of passengers traveling during the observation of “Undas” 2021 the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MO/C) has activated once again the Operation Plan (OPLAN) Biyaheng Ayos at the Port of Cagayan de Oro, Balingoan, Benoni, Guinsiliban, and Balbagon in Camiguin on 29 October 2021 to address traffic demands and respond to incidents that may arise therefrom.
The OPLAN included heightened security screening, surveillance, and access controls in ports in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), PNP Maritime Group, PNP PRO 10, PNP Police Station 5, concerned LGUs, and PNP Drug Enforcement Group (deployed personnel to conduct K9 sniffing inspection to passengers’ luggage/baggage); continued implementation of PMO’s Quick Response Desk manned 24/7 by action officers composed of Port Police and force multipliers in line with the DOTr’s Eagle Eye Project; and establishment of “Malasakit” Help Desks or Passenger Help Desk Assistance Centers. These help desks were manned by PMO personnel and volunteers from partner agencies and civic organizations. At the Baseport, personnel from PCG, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA),PCGA, and Oroport Medical Group helped man the help desks to provide assistance and immediate action to passengers’ concerns.
The PMO MOC had maintained direct communication lines with its Command Center and the PPA Head Office for monitoring of port situation 24/7 and hotline numbers and feedback mechanisms were also made available to ensure immediate responses. The PMO through the Port Police Division, was submitting daily port situation report to the Head Office since the onset of the OPLAN.
There were no major/unusual incidents recorded during the entire duration of the observance of Undas and OPLAN that concluded on 04 November 2021.
