Two (2) rescue transportation units to further bolster the capabilities of the PMO to respond to emergencies in ports have arrived in the Port of Cagayan de Oro on 25 June 2021.

The PPA Head Office provided one (1) unit of rescue vehicle and one (1) speed boat to the PMO’s port security personnel which will serve as great additional equipment to further enhance and strengthen the latter’s rescue response to both land and sea emergencies. These transportation units are also seen to be utilized in the future Simulation Exercises (SimEx) being conducted annually in the Port of Cagayan de Oro in partnership with various maritime and law enforcement agencies and security units. SimEx includes among others, drills on seajacking, bomb threat response, firefighting, oil spill control, high risk boarding, search and rescue, and emergency medical response.

The Port Police personnel will undergo training on the operation and maintenance of the said units.
