To help boost the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro’s (PMO MO/C) campaign against human trafficking, violence against women and children, and anti-child pornography, relevant Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials were provided by the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking, Violence Against Women and their Children and Anti-Child Pornography of Region 10 (RIACAT-VAWC-ACP Region 10) to the Port’s Women and Children Protection Unit (WCPU) on 30 March 2021.
The RIACAT-VAWC-ACP Region 10, represented by Ms. Marylou Aniñon and Ms. Menorah Contayoso of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Ms. Honey Jane Tulang of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), Police Officer Nerfe Valmoria of Philipine National Police (PNP) PRO 10, and Ms. Lieza Suello of the Department of Justice – Regional Anti-Trafficking Task Force (DOJ RATTF), turned-over informational videos, posters, brochures, leaflets, and bookmarks to the WCPU helpdesk located at CDO Port’s Passenger Terminal Building. This activity also served as part of the culminating activity for the Women’s Month Celebration 2021.
The same activity was also conducted by the Committee in other WCPU helpdesks located in Bulua Terminal, Macabalan Police Precinct 5 and some identified places in the hinterland areas such as Taglimao and Tuburan in Barangay Lumbia. —PGMBudiongan
