The Port of Cagayan de Oro has participated in the worldwide lights-off campaign, “Earth Hour,” on 27 March 2021.

Non-essential lights around the ports and its buildings, were switched off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The personnel were also encouraged to turn-off non-essential lights and electronic gadgets in their respective homes.

The Earth Hour is a worldwide event participated by million people around the globe and/or by more than 150 countries as a campaign to help keep a sustainable and healthy planet. This year’s Earth Hour  calls to put “spotlight” on environmental agenda in global conferences and raise public awareness to elicit crucial decisions from world leaders on climate action and sustainability.
