The Port Police Division of PMO MOC responded to an emergency call from the PMO Command Center about a drowning incident at the Roro ramp area. Upon arriving, officers found the crew of Tugboat Limay rescuing their colleague who had fallen into the water.
Crew members immediately began first aid and resuscitation efforts, while an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) arrived shortly after to provide additional assistance. Despite all efforts, the crew was rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center, where he was sadly declared dead on arrival.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim had suffered a laceration to his forehead, likely caused by slipping on the tugboat and hitting a hard object before falling into the water. Although he was known to be a skilled swimmer, it is believed that the head injury led to disorientation, contributing to his tragic drowning.
