The Port Management of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) conducted a Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention and Control in the workplace Seminar on July 05, 2024, at PPA Building 2, GAD Hall and via Zoom platform which was attended by a total of 47 PMO MOC personnel.

Dr. Wellaflor G. Kindom-Brito, the MGM Head for the Infectious Diseases Cluster, has been designated as the speaker for this informative event. Dr. Kindom-Brito brings expertise and experience, particularly in infectious diseases and public health. Her presentation encompassed critical topics like the DOH-CHDNM National Tuberculosis Program and HIV AIDS, emphasizing comprehensive strategies for prevention, detection, and management. This follows the continuous and effective implementation of the Integrated Management System and as part of the program implementation of CSC – DOH – DOLE Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1-2020 on the “Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards for the Public Sector.

The imperative to ensure a safe and healthy work environment cannot be overstated, particularly when addressing a prevalent health concern such as tuberculosis. TB remains a global health issue, and its impact on workforce health necessitates proactive measures in prevention and control. This seminar stands as a proactive response to this challenge, aiming to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively manage TB risks in their respective workplaces.
