Cagayan de Oro- The Philippine Ports Authority Port Management of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MOC) was honored with the prestigious Batang Malaya Northern Mindanao Award during the celebration of the World Day Against Child Labor (WDACL) and the 126th Independence Day. The event, held at SM CDO Downtown in Cagayan de Oro City, recognized the remarkable efforts of PMO MOC and the Terminal Management of Camiguin in combating child labor in the region. The Officer-in-Charge Ruby Maria Gumapon (PSD Manager) accepted the award on behalf of PMO MOC.
This award marks the second time PMO MOC has been recognized for its contributions. Their dedication to creating a safer and more nurturing environment for children has significantly impacted the community, reflecting the spirit of Batang Malaya and offering hope for a brighter future.
The ceremony also featured the DOLEkula Season 4 Film Festival, where seven films depicting the life and work conditions of child laborers were screened. The festival aimed to raise awareness and foster a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by child laborers.
PMO MOC’s unwavering commitment to partnerships and initiatives aimed at eradicating child labor has not gone unnoticed.
